Clinical Breakthroughs Deserve Breakthrough Communication

The problem

Clinical breakthroughs routinely fail to become clinical practice

Often through poor communication, rather than the data. The clinical trial answers the question of whether the drug works. It does almost nothing to answer the question of why anyone should believe it, prescribe it, fund it, or accept it.

Traditional medical communications are built around output: publications, congress abstracts, medical writing. They organise evidence well. They do not create conviction.

What we are

A communication company for innovators in healthcare

We combine strategic marketing thinking with state-of-the-art, clinically accurate digital visual effects.

Art&Medicine’s proposition sits at the intersection of these two worlds. Experienced enough in medical content creation to understand the science, the regulations and the audiences. And creatively ambitious enough to translate that insight into communication that actually moves people.

This combination is rare. It is also where the greatest commercial value in healthcare communications lies.

We are not
A consumer healthcare agency.
We are not
A traditional medical publisher.
We are
A B2B communication company built for innovators in pharma, biotech and medtech.
Why believe us

Where the science of medicine meets the art of persuasion

A unique team

Our Founders come from 2 worlds — Visual effects production and brand marketing. Each are leaders in their fields and have come together to provide a new option for medical innovators.

Proven clinical depth and accuracy

Hector Macleod has worked with clinicians for 15 years, creating three businesses: Heartworks and Orbitology and Klay. One has created the world’s most accurate digital twin of the human heart, to train clinicians safely and realistically. The second a perfect eye, down to finest detail, for ophthalmology students. And Klay is an AI-powered predictive simulation for facial implants.

Award-winning communication

Darren Burnett and John Townshend have spent over 25 years creating work for brands including BT, Virgin, Channel 4, The Economist, Microsoft and GSK. They are award winning for their skills in persuasion to both consumer and business audiences.

Global experience

Mark Benson, our Chair, ran the UK’s leading production companies, The Moving Picture Co and The Mill for over 25 years. Responsible for the special effects on films like Harry Potter, Jungle Book and The Lion King. All the A&M Founders have led multinational teams across global projects.
